We strive to produce the healthiest Boerboel pups possible and continually work with breeders from across the globe to ensure healthy lines of Topguard dogs. Slug is a very large male standing just over 28 inches ttw (to the wither) and weighing around 90kg. Slug is a son of Topguards Delta, bred to Topguards Ronnie with 6 generations of Topguard breeding behind him.
This boy is so soft natured and gentle with all our family and pets. His amazing temperament always makes him a favourite for visitors. Slug went through the appraisal system in 2022 by the legendary South African appraiser Thys Von Solms and scored a very respectable 87%L.

Cuthbert is a young male bred from Topguards Delta to Elevation Alphonse, he is half-brother to Topguards Slug and Topguards Nugget.
Cuthbert is a very powerful male with a high drive who loves and excels in anything active. He will happily run alongside the quad around the farm for miles and his favourite activity is pulling our daughter around on her sled. Cuthbert is a very correct male with outstanding movement and a great loving nature.
We are incredibly proud of Cuthbert’s placings in the Boerboel GB 2022 annual show. Cuthbert came 1st place in a large class for the 18–24-month-olds and went on to be the reserve champion male, (only to be beaten by our gentle giant Orion who won champion).
Cuthbert has an incredible appraisal score of 92% at only 20 months old. With him being 6 generations of Topguard breeding on the dams side this make us very proud!
Orion is a huge lad weighing over 90 kg at 27 inches ttw. He has one of the biggest heads we have ever seen and a heart to match. Orion is a complete baby around the family and adores our 2-year-old daughter. For such a huge dog he moves very well along with having 0-0 elbows and A-A hips.
At the Boerboel GB annual show Orion has now been crowned the winner of the ‘2-5 year old Male Class’ ‘Grand Champion’ and ‘Dog of the Day’ for two years running. Both times he was judged under Senior Judges and Appraisers who flew in from South Africa – Proud is an understatement!

Dune is an import male from Afrika Kennels, he is a son of Rambo Max and Afrika Bakie. Dune is a powerful dog with amazing movement and a piercing stare. He really is a special dog and has already proven to produce amazing offspring such as Topguards Ruff.

Pablo is another giant male standing 28 inches (ttw) and weighing nearly 90 kg. Pablo is a sharp male and very protective with a lot of defensive drive. Pablo has already proven to produce great offspring such as Topguards Rumble and Topguards Tumble.

Beast is a young import male from Afrika Kennels who is already showing a lot of promise. Beast is a son of Afrika Ghunter and Amadeo Azura. He is developing into a large muscular male already approaching 70cm tall and 80kg and still has another year of developing to do.
He has a remarkable temperament, is very gentle around all livestock and loves mixing with other dogs. He has one of the most willing to please nature’s we’ve ever come across.

Jekyll is a son of Topguards RJ2 (who is a full brother to Topguards Slug) and Middelpos Jax. Jekyll is a large male already standing at nearly 70cm tall and over 70kg at 17 months old and has a very strong protective nature.
Jekyl came 1st place at the Boerboel GB 2022 annual show for his age group.
We imported Zelos from Karlien Greeff at Afrika Boerboels. He is a son of Afrika Bundo 6 and he is a very strong and correct male with a very strong nature. He is proving to be an impassable guard dog and is excelling at protection training. He has an incredible BVA hip score of 0-0 which is very impressive for a large mastiff breed.
Ruff our loveable rogue always up to mischief with our two-year-old daughter. Ruff is an exceptionally large male for his age at over 76kg when he turned 1 year old and over 68cm tall.
Ruff has a very special breeding being Hippo’s son, who has 5 generations of Topguard breeding behind her. He was named in honour of Topguards Tuff (his grandfather) and he’s definitely living up to his legendary breeding.
We spent two years searching for a black boerboel and we finally found what we was looking for from Klein Sandfontein Boerboels in South Africa. Our impressive black import Jack Black has great bone, great conformation and outstanding movement. He has already proven to be a fantastic producer and we’re very excited about the future breedings we have planned with him.
Like his littermate Floki, Flunder is showing great promise for such a young dog, and we look forward to watching him mature.
Narla was born on 06/03/2020 and is a daughter of the famous Afrika Ghunter and Afrika Matilda. She is a very compact and powerful female imported from Karlien Greeff at Afrika Boerboels. Narla really stands out with her striking colouring and her fun-loving nature.
Martha is the daughter to Topguards Coco & Afrika Dune and she has matured into a really stunning female. She is easy going, laid back and very loving towards all of the family. We couldn’t decide between Martha and her sister Molly so we decided to keep them both!
Ava is our keeper from our Orion X Storm breeding. Ava is a stunning female who really does carry a lot of Orion’s characteristics. She has great conformation, movement and an incredible temperament. She is a substantially built female and we are very excited to see what she can produce for us in the future!
Topguards Skye is a daughter to Topguards Coco and Mighty Casius. Skye is a very well-built female, with good bone substance and is incredibly soft and gentle around the family and children. She is, however, an unpassable guard dog with a protective nature when strangers are around.
Skye is an exciting young breeding female who combines the old mighty lines with the modern legendary dog, the infamous Middelpos Alpha.
Tumble is a very calm and loving female with great movement and conformation. She is from the Middelpos Pablo and Topguards Charlie Girl breeding.
We endeavour to give our puppies the best start in life. Our litters are whelped and raised in our busy home so they can be given around the clock care. They are handled and fed by everyone in our family and socialised from the beginning.
When the puppies are around 5 weeks old and in need of more space to run, play and grow they are moved to our purpose-built puppy room. Our puppy room has been specially built and designed using hospital grade hygiene board walls and vet grad vinyl flooring. Our comfortable puppy room also has a fully climate-controlled heating and cooling system so our puppies can enjoy being nice and snug in winter and cooler in the summer months.
We wean our puppies from 4 weeks old for three to four weeks, then introduce them to Topguards Classic Salmon and Potato dried puppy food for large breeds, which they are fed four times a day. Our puppy kibble has been specially formulated for the needs of a large breed fast growing puppy. We recommend gradually reducing the amount of food you feed your Boerboel puppy to twice a day as he or she gets older and swap to adult food between 12 to 14 months of age. Before your new puppy leaves for their forever home, they will have had their first vaccination, microchip and bring a complimentary 12kg bag of their puppy food with them.

From time to time we sell our dogs in the hope that they can live the rest of their days in a loving domestic home environment. We will ensure that any of our dogs for sale are sold to the right person or family.

We miss the dogs that have left us but feel very honoured to be able to carry on the strong bloodlines and DNA. Having some of their semen frozen means, we can see past dogs living on in future litters.
I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of my mind;

Tuff was breed from Topguards Ronnie and Shushi. He was a strong correct male with great presence and took his job of home and family guardian very seriously. Tuff produced some great offspring such as Topguards Hugo and Topguards Hippo who is mother to Topguards Ruff. We are lucky to still able to breed to his sire Topguards Ronnie via frozen semen and we also have his half-brother and sister in Topguards Slug and Topguards Nugget.
Ronnie was a great male with tremendous bone and movement and superb nature around the family. He produced some amazing dogs over the years such as Topguards Simba, Topguards Tuff and Topguards Slug to name just a few. We are lucky to still be able to breed to him via frozen semen.
Charlie was a legend in his own right, his size conformation and character were outstanding. Still to this day, we’ve never seen a head quite like his, or the sheer volume that he carried without it compromising his movement. Charlie had an appraisal score of 94.75%.
